I wanted to chat about a new addiction of mine: the image-sharing site Pinterest. For those on Pinterest, I’m pretty sure you understand the addiction already. For those who don’t, run while you can.
The best part about Pinterest is that I can keep all of the pictures that inspire me in one place, all with embedded links to their original sources. So I’ve been invited to talk about my ten favorite pins. Enjoy!
#10—George R. R. Martin Quote
This comes from my Pep Talk Time board, where I put my favorite quotes and sayings to make you feel better. It’s all about pointing out (a) how awesome you are, and (b) how awesome life is.
Here’s my favorite George R. R. Martin quote yet:
#9—Maturity
This is from my awesomeness board, which is full of hundreds of pins’ worth of laughs. Enjoy.
#8—Beauty and the Beast
Here’s another laugh from my awesomeness board. I think it speaks for itself… I laugh every time I see this one.
#7—Math Problems
This one, also from my awesomeness board, definitely speaks for itself.
#6—The Creature
I keep a Swipes board full of the images that inspire the creatures and worlds of my novels. This image in particular has stuck out to me above the others, and it continues to intrigue me every time I look at it.
#5—The Cheshire Cat
Here’s another image from the Swipes board—I think the dark image, classic Cheshire face, and the quote tie this image together in a haunting way.
#4—The Coolest Book in the World
Seriously. I want this. Bad. (This also comes from the Swipes board):
#3—Those Eyes
This image stays with me even after I stop scrolling through my Character Swipes board, which is a board filled with the images and expressions that inspire characters in my novels. It was hard to choose just this one to share with you, so be sure you check out this board when you have a moment.
#2—Ridiculously Photogenic Owl
Along with a Character Swipes board, I also keep a Creatures Swipes board, which serves the same purpose for the creatures and monsters in the novels I write. Some of them are cute. Some of them are terrifying. I chose to go with cute for this post:
#1—Awwww
I have my girly moments. I admit it. And one of them is the squee sound I make every time I see this picture, which I keep in my Adorable board with the rest of the cute stuff I can’t resist.
So those are my favorites. What are yours? You can check out my pinterest boards (or choose from your own!) and share the link to you favorite pin(s) in the comments below. Be sure to explain why you like them!

About Lichgates (Grimoire Saga #1)
Kara Magari is about to discover a beautiful world full of terrifying things—Ourea.
Kara, a college student still reeling from her mother’s recent death, has no idea the hidden world of Ourea even exists until a freak storm traps her in a sunken library. With no way out, she opens an ancient book of magic called the Grimoire and unwittingly becomes its master, which means Kara now wields the cursed book’s untamed power. Discovered by Ourea’s royalty, she becomes an unwilling pawn in a generations-old conflict—a war intensified by her arrival. In this world of chilling creatures and betrayal, Kara shouldn’t trust anyone… but she’s being hunted and can’t survive on her own. She drops her guard when Braeden, a native soldier with a dark secret, vows to keep her safe. And though she doesn’t know it, her growing attraction to him may just be her undoing.
For twelve years, Braeden Drakonin has lived a lie. The Grimoire is his one chance at redemption, and it lands in his lap when Kara Magari comes into his life. Though he begins to care for this human girl, there is something he wants more. He wants the Grimoire.
Welcome to Ourea, where only the cunning survive.
