In a Google Hangout yesterday, Chanda Hahn and I talked about time-travel, plot holes, and living on a mountain. We had lots of fun, and Chanda’s dog made a guest appearance. After a few technical difficulties, we got down to business and talked about a range of topics. So, press play and enjoy!
We talked about the differences between science fiction and fantasy. Generally, science fiction is harder to write than fantasy. Inspiration for fantasy can be found just about any where. Chanda talks about the book that got her started and how she has hooked readers with her unique ideas. Fantasy provides an escape for people who want to get out of the real world for a while.
Transitioning from one genre to another for writers and readers can be a challenge. Chanda talks about her plans for future works and why she decided to switch genres. She also talks about the importance of characters experiencing consequences for their actions.
Also, the concept of time travel is discussed. Chanda explains how she uses it to fix plot holes and we also discuss how time travel can create problems and possible solutions to the issues time travel can present.
We also talk about the fans who keep us going and how we strive to communicate to our readers through our writing.
If you’re interested in attending Chanda’s Release Day Facebook Party, please RSVP here. There will be giveaways, games and signed books from tons of authors.
Thanks for watching! See you next week with Nikki Jefford.
