[Video] Mythical creatures in fiction | A chat with Teal Haviland

To celebrate the upcoming release of ILLUSION (Grimoire Saga #4), I’m sitting down to chat with some of my favorite authors.

On November 21st, Teal Haviland and I talked about magic, monsters, and mythical creatures, among other things as we felt inspired.

Teal Haviland is an awesome author who is fantastic at world building. She was a speaker on a panel at UtopYA Con and I asked her to come chat with me on this Google Hangout. She’s the author of The Reaping Chronicles, for anyone interested in checking out her work.

The creatures in Teal Haviland’s series are unique and interesting. She talks about how she came up with them, why they work with her story, and what they bring to her fictional world. Her mythical creatures include angels, gentry, a unique kind of vampire, and more. I chime in with information on some of the magic and creatures in Ourea–the world in the Grimoire Saga.

We also talked about co-writing novels and how working together to create a story can be rewarding. Teal talks about how she and her writing partner have collaborated and the best way to make sure a project like that goes smoothly.
