This secret blog post idea is an experiment. Basically, you get access to these members-only behind the scenes looks into my writing, publishing, and miscellaneous adventures. Sometimes you’ll get stories, sometimes you’ll get notifications before anyone else, and other times we’ll shoot the breeze together in the comments.

For instance: is there anything specifically you would like to see in these posts? Any industry secrets you want to hear about before anyone else? Events? I’m all ears and will see what I can do. Comment with your ideas.

The Heritage Release

As you likely know, my third novel in the Grimoire Saga released on November 5th. Gearing up for the release has been really exciting (and nerve-wracking). We really went all-out with this release.

• Press releases went out to dozens of newspapers.
• I hired a long-term publicist.
• There’s a huge advertising campaign that’s wrapping up this month through sites like Freebooksy and BookGorilla, to name a few.
• BookBub will join in this December.
• I even joined up with the wonderful folks at Slush Pile for a Google Hangout to discuss the book and some marketing techniques I employed. It has really been a fun ride!

But what’s really cool is what my assistant and I are going to do for Illusion (Grimoire Saga #4). There’s going to be loads of fun leading up to the big release day:

• You’ll get the option to make your own preorder bundles (yep — get a discount on everything in the preorder list!)
• We’ll be doing a live Google Hangout where I sign preordered novels before I ship them (with a recording in case you can’t join in the fun)
• We’re going to start doing secret Q&A Google Hangouts ONLY for street team members!
• So, so much more.

And of course you, my amazing street teamer, will be the first to hear about it.
